BENDIGO Advertiser staff were recognised for their outstanding work at the Rural Press Club of Victoria awards on Friday.
Deputy editor Nicole Ferrie won the Best Feature Series or Campaign award for her series of articles on women's refuge Annie North.
Photographer Brendan McCarthy was commended and highly commended in the Best General Interest category and won Best News Photography award for his photos of a Maiden Gully fire.
Photographers Jim Aldersey and Glenn Daniels were commended and highly commended for Photographer of the Year.
Editor Rod Case said the awards were tremendous recognition of the terrific work of staff.
“Nicole’s campaign for Annie North was strong and achieved a great result for the community,” he said.
“We have always been proud of the work of our photographers and their fantastic efforts have been reflected at the awards.”
