We've known for some time about the fantastic quality of restaurants that call Bendigo home and now thanks to a record number of listings in the prestigious Age Good Food Guide, everyone is going to learn our secret.

That's great recognition for the people behind these quality restaurants and the hard work and dedication they have put into building these businesses.

It's also a pretty good indication Bendigo foodlovers are truly spoiled for choice.

What was great about the reaction from many of the restaurants on Friday was their desire to thank their staff for playing a vital role in achieving this recognition.

Staff are vital to any business but can certainly make or break a restaurant.

There was also plenty of recognition for the quality of restaurants in surrounding regions with Castlemaine, Kyneton, Malmsbury, Heathcote and Daylesford recognised.

Congratulations to all the restaurants and cafes honoured - worthy praise indeed.
