City of Greater Bendigo mayor Barry Lyons and chief executive office Craig Niemann met with leaders of 10 regional cities and state government and opposition representatives at the Victorian Regional Cities Forum in Melbourne.
Cr Lyons said the forum was a great opportunity to discuss issues with other regional areas and keep government up to date with development plans.
"It's a very important function, it's one of the strongest lobby groups to government on behalf of the regional areas," Cr Lyons said.
"We've been really successful with the government over the last few years with things like the art gallery and the library," Cr Lyons said.
"We're going very well actually, we're kicking a lot of goals, but there are still a lot of projects we're working on."
