THE owner of a Rottweiler that aggressively attacked a woman in Arnold Street last month will face court next week.
Nicole Singleton, 29, has been charged with two counts of breaching Section 29 (4) of the Domestic Animals Act, relating to a dog biting a person and causing a serious injury, and one count of failing to register the dog with the City of Greater Bendigo.
She will answer the charges at the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on September 4.
A City of Greater Bendigo spokeswoman would not confirm whether the council was advocating for the dog - named Rocky - to be put down.
"The city could not preempt the outcome of the court case," she said.
Rocky remains impounded at the RSPCA.
