Illness has put Bendigo captain Trent Waterson and forwards George Slefendorfas and Daniel Purdy in doubt for the match. Goalkeeper Sebastian Mattei is a 50-50 chance to play.

Spanish star Vitaka Rodriguez will miss the match through suspension having picked up five yellow cards.

FC Bendigo playing coach Steve Martin said the possible absences paved the way for unheralded players to make their mark.

“Obviously it’s a lot better if we have all players on board, fit and available.

“That being said, there are always injuries and that’s something that gives our younger blokes an opportunity, which is what we want."

Bendigo produced a strong performance last weekend to draw 1-1 with third placed Box Hill United.

One player who will take his place for Bendigo is Englishman Matt Breeze, whose 88th minute strike last week was his eighth goal this season.

When these clubs last met, Springvale won 4-1 at Tom Flood Sports Centre.

Saturday's play at Springvale kicks off with the under-20s at 1pm and will be followed by the seniors at 3pm.

Meanwhile, the final round in the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League's championship season will be played on Sunday.

The women's matches kick off at 11am.

Colts United must win to clinch the title when it takes on Eaglehawk at Truscott Reserve, and Epsom hosts Golden City. Strathdale and the ladder-leading Spring Gully have the bye.

It's the same draw for the men's division one matches from 3pm.
