The grade six primary school students have won their way to next month's final, where they will take on the best young netballers from across the state. 

The team includes Tadiwanashe Masiboy, Meg Ritchie, Bronte McConnachie, Jarrenhy Webb, Mackenzie Marsh, Ruby Turner, Chloe Pangrazio and Bridget Turner (pictured above). 

St Monica's Primary School P.E coordinator Cath Williams said it was great achievement for the girls. 

"We haven't had a netball team from St Monica's make it through the state finals in a couple of years," she said. 

"It is a great achievement."

Williams said the grade six girls were crowned champions of the Sandhurst division and then went on to win the Loddon Mallee title at a Swan Hill competition. 

"They have had to beat all the schools in this area and then beat all the schools in the wider Loddon Mallee region," she said.  

"They are fiercely competitive and the games were close in the Loddon region games. 

"All the girls are tall which helps."

Williams said most of the players involved with the team had been playing together since they were in grade three. 

St Monica's will play in the final on September 12 at the Waverley Netball Centre. 

The team have been placed in pool B of the competition and will face Northern Metro, Greater Western and Western Metro teams.

Gippsland, Eastern Metro, Hume and Southern Metro are also vying for the title.
