Ms Eastick has been volunteering at the Bendigo Joss House Temple for the past year and says it has been very rewarding.
She said her background on Chinese history encouraged her to lend a hand at the unique Bendigo temple.
"I used to be a volunteer a the Golden Dragon Museum and my previous background on Chinese history got me into volunteering," Ms Eastick said.
"I have a masters in cultural heritage and the opportunity to build on my knowledge and share it with others was part of the reason I became a volunteer at the Joss House."
Ms Eastick said part of her role at the centre was to talk to people and teach them about the Temple's history including when Chinese migrants came to the region in search of gold, years ago.
"The best part of volunteering, is without a doubt, when someone comes in and you get to see that moment when they learn something new," she said.
"That bright light goes on.
"It is a wonderful feeling."
