He joined after moving back to the area.
"I wasn't involved in any football or sporting clubs, the lions seemed to have a lot of members," he said.
"So I thought, 'well I might as well join'.
"I am the baby of the club."
Mr McCormick said the club co-ordinated a Driver Reviver stop on long weekends, organised barbecues on Anzac Day and Australia Day, and helped raise money for Vision Australia and Guide Dogs Australia.
He said the club also helped with other community initiatives.
"The town needs a community group other than just the Elmore Progress Association," he said.
Mr McCormick said he had made some life-long friends at the club.
The club has eight members and some will be stationed at the gate of the Heathcote and District Football League grand final this year.
