The Victory took on the Kardinia Cats in their grand final and came away with a comfortable win, prevailing 11.11 (77) to 4.7 (31) at St Kilda’s Peanut Farm Reserve.
“It was a good performance by the boys and they played some good footy today, especially in the third quarter,” Bendigo Victory coach Aussie Jones said.
Among the crowd watching on Wednesday were Collingwood great Peter Daicos, dual Hawthorn Norm Smith medallist Gary Ayres, Geelong premiership president Frank Costa, North Melbourne premiership player Peter “Crackers” Keenan and Victorian sports minister Damian Drum.
There are plans for the Victory to play a curtain-raiser before the Bendigo Gold-Collingwood match at the QEO on August 22.
Jones has coached the Victory during his two years in Bendigo.
