The meeting was transferred to the Bendigo Jockey Club while works are being undertaken at the Sandown course.
"We put our hand up about a month ago to take it on and got through it today, although, the track is a bit tired," Bendigo Jockey Club chief executive officer Ian Hart said.
"We've done our bit for the industry today in accommodating for the meeting to proceed and there was quite a number of very promising horses that run."
