Man and woman found dead near Kerang: photos

The towns of Kerang and Murrabit West have been left reeling following the news a dairy farmer murdered his partner and shot two others before killing himself in northern Victoria on the weekend.

Greg Murray shot his ex-partner and her husband after forcing his way into their Kerang house where six children were staying on Saturday night.

His body was found in Murrabit West, along with his partner's, early Sunday morning.

Vandals target Castlemaine war memorial

Polce are calling for witnesses after graffiti vandals targeted the Castlemaine RSL war memorial on the weekend.

Castlemaine's Senior Constable Rod Webster said the Mostyn Street memorial was marked with black spray paint sometime between 2pm on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday. 

The memorial pays tribute to soldiers who served during WWI, WWII, the Vietnam War and peacekeepers in Iraq and Afghanistan and is located at the front of the RSL.
