Bridegroom’s name: Dylan McNeill
Wedding Date: March 8, 2014
The meeting:
"We met in August 2009 at The United Kingdom Hotel where we were celebrating a mutual friend’s 18th birthday. We didn’t initially hit it off because Dylan spilt a beer down my dress, and I was less than impressed. However, to this day Dylan says it was me who bumped into him. We met again a few weeks later at another friend’s 18th birthday party and the rest is history.
The proposal:
We planned a holiday together to Thailand in April 2012. On the third day of our holiday we went for a late walk on the beach. We started to write silly messages to each other in the sand. Dylan then wrote ‘marry me?’ and got down on one knee and pulled out the ring.
The wedding day:
We got married at the base of Pyramid Hill, as the Harrison family is originally from the area. The reception followed at the Pyramid Hill Memorial Hall, at the same place my grandparents had their wedding reception. We wanted a relaxed and fun wedding, as it was important to us that our guests enjoyed themselves.
Our bridal party, myself and our three bridesmaids started the day at 8am with hair at make-up at Bettina’s Salon. We had the ceremony at 4.30pm and then took photos in the town centre and at the railway station while our guests enjoyed refreshments at the Victoria Hotel. The reception commenced at 6pm, with a three course meal followed by lots of drinks, laughter and dancing!
The dress:
The dress was by Henry Roth and was purchased at Bendigo Bridal Collections. The dress had a sweetheart neckline, tulle bodice, clean a-line skirt and lace embroidery and a chapel train. Bron from Bendigo Bridal Collections added a lace-and-beaded belt. It was stunning.
I loved everything about it. The bridesmaid dresses were Jadore and also purchased from Bendigo Bridal Collections.
The cake:
Our cake was made by Country Cakes. It was a two-tier chocolate mud and marble mud, covered in white truffle icing. We almost forgot about the cake and it was generously picked up and delivered by one of our guests.
Photography:
The photos were taken by Garth at GS Imagery
The honeymoon:
We are going to America at the end of the year
