BENDIGO badminton star Glenn Warfe has kept his Commonwealth Games medal aspirations alive by progressing through to the men's doubles quarter-finals in Glasgow.

Warfe and team-mate Raymond Tam were 21-8, 21-15 victors over Seyschelles' Georgie Cupidon and Steve Malcouzanne in the round of 16.
Warfe and Tam - seeded No. 7 - took 22 minutes to wrap up the match and move through to a quarter-final, which was due to be played 5am Saturday (AEST) against England.
While Warfe, 30, is still in medal contention, fellow Bendigonian Jeff Tho suffered a pair of defeats in other round of 16 action.
Tho was beaten by No.2 seeded Indian Kashyap Parupalli 21-7, 21-8 in his men's singles contest.
And in the mixed doubles, Tho and Jacqueline Guan were defeated 21-7, 21-10 by the fourth-seeded English duo of Chris Langridge and Heather Oliver.
Meanwhile, the Australian netball team featuring Bendigo's Caitlin Thwaites and Kerang's Julie Corletto will continue its pursuit of a first Commonwealth Games gold medal in 12 years on Saturday night (AEST).
The Diamonds will take on Jamaica in their semi-final at 9.15pm (AEST). The gold medal game will be played at 9.30pm Sunday night (AEST).
