The female was a passenger in the Honda Accord and suffered bruising to her chest and abdomen.
EARLIER: Police have cleared the scene of a two-car crash at the intersection of Sternberg and Skene streets.
Leading Senior Constable Kevin Hume-Cook said a 52 year-old male driver of a Honda Accord was taken to Bendigo Health for observation.
A 20 year-old female from Shepparton was issued a notice for failing to give way after she drove her Holden sedan west through the intersection.
The Holden collided with the passenger side of the Honda, which had a 46 year-old female passenger and a 15 year-old male in the back seat.
Both cars were towed from the scene with extensive damage.
Sternberg Street was closed for more than an hour as police and SES crews cleared the scene.
EARLIER: The State Emergency Service has spent more than half an hour cutting two people free from a vehicle involved in the crash at Sternberg Street.
Both people have now been freed and are being treated by paramedics.
EARLIER: Emergency services are attending a crash at the intersection of Sternberg Street and Skene Street in Kennington.
Police are en-route to the accident, which occurred just before 6pm.
Traffic is currently being diverted and residents are asked to avoid the area.
