Last time: Round 8, 2014: LBU 13.11 (89) d Huntly 10.7 (67).
Since 2001: LBU 27; Huntly 2.
HUNTLY - the Hawks have got the winning feeling back around the club with back-to-back victories over Heathcote and Elmore by 10 goals-plus.
But taking on the Cats is a far different proposition to having beaten the two bottom sides.
They will need to start well like the past two games when they’ve kicked 70 to 21 in first quarters.
LBU - past three games have been decided by just 12 points for two wins and a loss.
Finished on top of the ladder the past three years, but will have to take a different finals route this season after last week’s one-point loss to North Bendigo cost them their chance of another minor premiership.
Jonathan Hay hamstring injury doesn’t help the cause.
COLBINABBIN v HEATHCOTE - 2.15pm Saturday at Colbinabbin.
Last time: Round 8, 2014: Colbinabbin 18.14 (122) d Heathcote 6.8 (44).
Since 1995: Colbinabbin 26; Heathcote 21.
COLBINABBIN - finals destiny is out of their hands entering the last two rounds.
All the Grasshoppers can worry about is beating Heathcote and Elmore in their last two games and then hope White Hills falters and they can grab fifth spot from the Demons.
Fifth could come down to percentage, so they can’t let-up at all in either game.
HEATHCOTE - the first of the region’s senior teams to finish up for the season on Saturday.
The Saints have the bye in the final round, with Saturday bringing to an end a year in which they will miss the finals for the first time since 2004.
Have they got one last effort in them to finish on a high and put a dent in Colbinabbin’s finals aspirations?
NORTH BENDIGO v LEITCHVILLE-GUNBOWER - 2.15pm Saturday at North Bendigo.
Last time: Round 8, 2014: North Bendigo 16.18 (114) d Leitchville-Gunbower 5.8 (38).
Since 2010: North Bendigo 7; Leitchville-Gunbower 2.
NORTH BENDIGO - the Bulldogs are heading for a top of the ladder finish after last week’s come-from-behind win over LBU.
The wins continue racking up for the Bulldogs, with that now 12 in a row.
As last week showed, they are finishing games full of run, having kicked 184-42 in their past six last quarters.
LEITCHVILLE-GUNBOWER - now in prime position to grab the double chance and launch an assault on their first HDFL flag.
The Bombers have won six of their past seven since they were embarrassed by North Bendigo in round eight when they were belted at home by 76 points.
The Bombers have never beaten the Bulldogs in four clashes at Atkins Street.
WHITE HILLS v ELMORE - 2.15pm Saturday at White Hills.
Last time: Round 8, 2014: White Hills 31.18 (204) d Elmore 10.9 (69).
Since 1995: Elmore 24; White Hills 15; Drawn 1.
WHITE HILLS - gave themselves a bit of breathing space in the top-five last week with their 91-point win over Heathcote.
Key forward Ricky Symes has booted 16 goals the past three games and is the only HDFL player to kick a goal in every match his team has played.
Flogged Elmore by 135 points last time and will want another percentage-booster.
ELMORE - just two chances left for the Bloods to avoid a winless season.
The Bloods were beaten by Huntly by 64 points last week in what was the fifth game in a row where they were outscored in every quarter.
Jeff McMurtrie and Jack Hayes continue to lead the way for the Bloods in what has been another trying season.
