Ms Edwards was digging into the soil at the Bridge Street location when Becky, part of Vision Australia's media team, decided to help out.
Vision Australia has outgrown its current building on McIvor Road with construction of the custom-fitted building in Bridge Street expected to begin next month. The building will include training rooms, low vision clinics, a day centre and on-site radio station.
Vision Australia chief executive Ron Hooton said the organisation had a long-term commitment to provide blindness and low vision services to the region.
“Over the next few years, Vision Australia will increase its breadth of services across Australia, including Bendigo," he said.
Vision Australia Bendigo provides services within Victoria’s largest health region of Loddon Mallee.
