Ms Neil will speak at Strath Village Newsagency's Breakfast with the Author event at the Shamrock Hotel Federation Room at 7.30am.
Ms Neil's novel Under Siege traces her journey from a wide-eyed rookie to a spell in undercover drugs operations, homicide investigation and the New South Wales police force's elite hostage negotiation team. The high-pressured job took Ms Neil from one crisis to the next with her call-outs anything from suicide attempts to hostage situations.
Strath Village Newsagency owner Kylie Kay money from the breakfast would go to the Blue Ribbon Foundation.
"Also, $5 from every book sold is going to Blue Ribbon Foundation and I'm having a hamper too," she said. "Belinda Neil is a really interesting woman so it should be great."
Tickets to the event are $20.
