BENDIGO band Old Violet gave a collective sigh of relief this week as it launched its debut album, In This Weather.
"There was a bit of angst (after the album's release) in terms of what people would think of it," lead singer Brendan Smith said.
"You obviously make music for yourself but you also want people to like it."
The album is available on iTunes for the low price of $3.99.
But the Old Violet boys aren't concerned over how many albums it might sell, they just want people to hear their music.
"We're not worried about how many we do or don't sell, that's why we made it as cheap as we could on iTunes, so people can have it," Smith said.
"It's a platform everyone has access to and we know no one wants to pay for music which is why it's only $3.99.
"Hopefully people can get it onto their iPhones or iPods, listen to it and leads them to coming to or shows."
Old Violet will officially launch In This Weather at a show at the Evelyn Hotel at 351 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, on August 16.
Hard copies of the album will be available for a gold-coin donation.
"We only made 300 hard copies but these days it's a quick turnaround to produce more if we need to," Smith said.
The band's next Bendigo show is on September 4 at Star Bar where it will support The Kite String Tangle who played at Groovin the Moo earlier this year.
"We are excited to supporting Kite String Tangle and haven’t thought too much about Bendigo album launch," Smith said.
"We have been so busy with shows since we finished record."
