She represents students' views and provides them with support while juggling full-time study in occupational therapy.
As soon as she arrived at La Trobe's Bendigo campus in 2012 she put her hand up for election to the BSA board.
Miss Robertson, 20, said voluntary positions have been part of her life throughout her school career.
She her desire to "give students a voice" started in primary school and continued every year through high school.
Students' concerns about changes to staffing and support services as part of La Trobe University's restructure has kept her busy recently.
She said the most challenging aspect of her current role is connecting with student to accurately represent their interests.
She said it was important to her to have "tough talks" with university management on behalf of concerned students.
Miss Robertson said the best aspect of her role was the "satisfaction of making student life better for everyone".
She said, beyond her voluntary leadership roles at university, she hoped to always be involved in "being that voice" for those who didn’t have one.
