Member for Northern Victoria Amanda Millar recently announced the government had awarded a $4870 grant to HIP HOP DROP, as part of the Equip Grant Program for youths.
Centre founder and youth worker Mike Flood said the centre aimed to promote social inclusion and artistic development.
"HIP HOP DROP promotes young people having a say and voice in its operations, which ensures we are responsive to their needs and also building active and confident citizens," he said.
"Young hip hop artists volunteer their time to deliver workshops in the elements of hip hop culture, including dancing, emceeing, street art, deejaying and beatboxing."
Mr Flood said the centre didn't charge fees to attend, making grants such as the Equip one vital to its longevity.
