The competition aims to foster creativity and innovation in students from grade three to eight.
"This is a really exciting competition that encourages students to think creatively and innovatively about Australia’s future. We want students to tell us their ideas – no matter how big or small – and in doing so, we just might uncover a littleBIGidea that changes life for future generations," judge James O'Loghlin said.
The top 12 finalist will be invited to attend a forum in Sydney in October to present their idea to the judges.
Three overall winners will win a trip to Florida, USA to visit innovation hotspots, including the Kennedy Space Centre, Walt Disney World Florida and Ripley's Believer It or Not.
Nine runners up will win $1000 education grants. Entries close on September 5. To enter visit, www.littlebigidea.com.au
