It launched the full capability of the Redy payment system created by Bendigo and Adelaide Bank's subsidiary Community Telco.
Community Telco chief executive David Joss said the technology used to secure transactions was patent-pending for the company.
He said the technology was unique because important information was not made available to intruders.
A customer would enter a store and instead of pulling out a card to pay on an EFTPOS machine they would wave their watch, with the Redy app, past the store's receiver.
The customer's information is then turned into a code which is verified through its systems.
Mr Joss said the process was secure and easy.
“Just as mobile phones are becoming more common place as payment devices, there is little doubt that wearable technology is the next extension of the customer’s experience," he said.
“Although only released for the Samsung Gear 2 watch at this stage, we will continue to develop for wearable technologies as they continue to."
Redy technology also encourages people to shop locally as it offers a re-injection service into certain community programs.
