The Golden Square resident joined the Bendigo and District Prostate Group in 2002.
He has been involved in several fundraisers, including Relay for Life, Men's Health Week Turn the Town Blue and the Run for Dad fun run.
Mr Arnold is also a contact for a 24-hour confidential telephone information line and support service for men who are concerned about their prostate.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer when he was 52 and thought joining the group was a good opportunity to give back to the community.
"I am not in any service group but I give by doing this work," he said.
"I thought it was a good idea - here's a chance to put something back."
Maureen Paliew, Mr Arnold's sister, said her brother was an inspiration.
"Prostate cancer is a major health issue today with one in four men suffering from the illness," she said.
"I admire and commend Ken for helping people, because this disease still has a stigma causing many to be embarrassed and few to openly discuss."
