Gisborne teamed superbly to slam on 15 unanswered goals on its way to a 95-point win on South's turf at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
It was a remarkable effort as South scored the first goal of the contest through Josh Whelan in the fourth minute.
A week after a stunning win against Kyneton, the Bloods started this contest with their third-placed opponents in fine form.
South did plenty of the early attacking, but it was Gisborne which hit back.
Talented youngster Pat McKenna took a strong mark just seconds before the siren and goaled for Gisborne to lead 23-7 at the first break.
The Bulldogs' dominated at many of the stoppages through the second and third terms.
A six-goal run in the second included Shaun Comerford's snapshot bouncing through.
McKenna and another of Gisborne's young stars, Ethan Minns finished or set off a lot of attacks.
By half-time Gisborne led 51-7.
The Bulldogs' pressure and run did not let up in the final hour.
Minns and McKenna both finished with three goals apiece as Comerford and Tom May chipped in with two.
At the other end of the ground the Gisborne defence was outstanding.
After racking up plenty of possessions on field, Gisborne coach Rod Sharp praised the team's workrate.
"Our chasing and tackling was excellent all match. South's effort in the first quarter and a half was great, but we knew if we kept working on numbers at contest and then spread quickly that we could take control of the game.
"It's a taxing style of footy, but it's what we have to do to be successful."
Sharp said Gisborne now looked forward to a big month in which it faces Eaglehawk and Sandhurst on home turf at Gardiner Reserve.
Gisborne plays Storm at Strathfieldsaye in round 17, and is back home to tackle Kangaroo Flat a week later.
