Four men were arrested after police intercepted a BMW on the Midland Highway about 10.45pm on Wednesday and allegedly discovered 105 grams of the drug ice.
Senior Constable Kate Marjoram from Castlemaine said police were putting the third man in the police van when the fourth male ran from the scene.
The other occupants of the car, Billy Guest, 20, Ryan Stalker, 31, and Thomas Windsor, 23, appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates Court yesterday via video link.
The trio face charges of trafficking a commercial quantity of methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine, possessing methamphetamine, going equipped to steal, possessing a controlled weapon and possessing firearm ammunition without licence.
Stalker has also been charged with driving while suspended and exceeding the speed limit.
Sergeant Nicky Goodison from Castlemaine police praised the good work of the three officers who conducted the drug bust.
“There were only three officers and four offenders and it was dark and raining,” she said. “It’s unfortunate that one of them got away but I think they did a terribly good job.
“It was the result of a traffic intercept in relation to speeding, not excessive speeding, and they thought a few things were suspicious and followed their instincts.”
The men remain in custody and have made no application for bail. They will appear in the Bendigo Magistrates Court in November.
