Last time: Round 6, 2014: Newbridge 16.16 (112) d YCW 9.8 (62).
Since 1995: Newbridge 26; YCW 18.
YCW - copped the full brunt of Bridgewater last week in what was a 173-point hiding.
The result was another example of the Eagles’ Jekkyl and Hyde season considering when they first met this year, YCW was good enough to lead Bridgewater at three quarter-time.
What will the Eagles dish up at home this weekend?
NEWBRIDGE - bounced back from two losses in a row last week with a 121-point win over Inglewood.
Still a game outside the top three with clashes to come against YCW, Mitiamo, Pyramid Hill and Marong.
Midfielder Jordan Gilboy continues to press his claim as a Harding Medal contender. He’s been in the best 11 of 12 games.
MARONG v CALIVIL UNITED - 2.15pm Saturday at Marong.
Last time: Round 6, 2014: Marong 21.14 (140) d Calivil United 14.12 (96).
Since 1995: Calivil United 34; Marong 8.
MARONG - fresh off a bye and coming up against a side that despite having had a poor overall record against for the past 20 years, have had the wood over recently with four consecutive wins.
Warm favourite against the Demons on Saturday, but then gets much harder with games to come against BL-Serpentine, Bridgewater and Newbridge.
CALIVIL UNITED - copped their fourth loss of the season by more than 100 points when beaten by Pyramid Hill by 106 points last week.
The experienced Caleb Smith in defence has been the Demons’ most consistent player during this challenging rebuilding season, while Jonas Sommerville has been a standout the past month.
PYRAMID HILL v BL-SERPENTINE - 2.15pm Saturday at Pyramid Hill.
Last time: Round 6, 2014: Pyramid Hill 17.14 (116) d BL-Serpentine 17.9 (111).
Since 1995: Pyramid Hill 21; BL-Serpentine 21.
PYRAMID HILL - continue to tick along solidly in second position behind Bridgewater on the back of five wins in a row.
Now face a major test at home against the third-placed Bears in what’s a crucial clash for the top three aspirations of both sides.
Defended well in their five wins in a row, having conceded no more than nine goals.
BL-SERPENTINE - like Pyramid Hill, the Bears are up and about and in winning form.
They’ve won their past four games, during which they’ve climbed from fifth into the top three as they eye off the double chance.
Averaged 19.2 goals per game in their four wins in a row, in which midfielder Nathan McNally has starred.
MITIAMO v BRIDGEWATER - 2.15pm Saturday at Mitiamo.
Last time: Round 6, 2014: Bridgewater 19.15 (129) d Mitiamo 4.12 (36).
Since 1995: Mitiamo 24; Bridgewater 15; Drawn 1.
MITIAMO - not for the first time this year, the Superoos squandered a three quarter-time lead against BL-Serpentine last week and lost by 17 points.
In fact, of the nine games the Superoos have lost this year, they have led four of them at the last change.
Will be doing well to still be in Saturday’s game at three quarter-time against the champs.
BRIDGEWATER - coming off a brutal past two weeks in which they have outscored Inglewood and YCW 408-61 to boost what was an already impressive percentage of 249.3 to 293.9.
Scary to think how much better they would have been had coach Andrew Collins - who kicked eight goals last week - not been restricted to just four of the 12 games so far.
