Josh Walsh, 29, pleaded guilty in Bendigo County Court on Wednesday to one charge of armed robbery.
The charge related to an incident at the Echuca Domino's outlet on Australia day this year.
Judge Jane Patrick convicted the Moama man and sentenced him to 24 months in jail.
She ordered he spend a minimum of 12 months behind bars before being eligible for parole.
Judge Patrick also ordered Walsh pay $268.45 in compensation to the pizza shop chain.
She told the court had Walsh not pleaded guilty, she would have jailed him for three years, with a non-parole period of two years.
