The mid-courter will travel interstate in search of more opportunities, signing on with Queensland Firebirds for 2015.
Strachan, 27, is vice- captain of the undefeated Victorian Fury in the Australian Netball League and will play out the last five weeks of the season before heading north.
“Whilst it was an extremely difficult decision to make, I am looking forward to the chance to further my development as a player,” she said.
“I am very grateful for the time I have spent at the Melbourne Vixens and have learnt a lot from Bianca Chatfield and Madi Robinson.”
Strachan is due to be married in November and said her fiance would move to Queensland with her at the end of the year.
“My brother lives in Brisbane and he has been here for give years and has been trying to lure me up for ages to the warm weather.”
Firebirds were runners-up to Vixens in 2014.
