Named by Rolling Stone as the second-best bassist of all time, Flea is also known for his forays into acting, with parts in Back to the Future parts II and III, and My Own Private Idaho.
According to the LA Times, Flea bought the 3156-square-metre Van Griffith Estate in 2011 for $US4.55 million. The Mediterranean-style property has a four-bedroom main residence with formal and informal living areas, a library, speakeasy and eat-in kitchen. The estate's former carriage house is now a two-bedroom guesthouse. The grounds come with a saltwater swimming pool and spa, and an established garden with stone paths and a century-old olive grove.
The Melbourne-born rocker also co-founded the non-profit Silverlake Conservatory of Music, teaching music to underprivileged kids.
