OWNERS of independent, creative businesses will soon have the chance to swap advice and hear tips from experts through a new community network.
Jenna Little, the brains behind the Bendigo Design Market, is initiating the Bendigo Creative Business Network, which will launch on August 5.
Ms Little said the Bendigo region was pulsating with creative souls selling a range of unique products.
She said many business owners knew one another through the various markets they attended, and there was a need for a formal network.
"Most people at markets know each other and want to talk but you don't have time at the market," she said.
"I know a lot of people I've been speaking to who really wanted a business network."
Ms Little said the group was for anyone with a creative, small business - whether it be a graphic design business, a jewellery brand, a clothing line or any other creative endeavour.
She said creative business owners were often running one-man operations, whereby they were responsible for every aspect of their brand, including the making, marketing and selling of the products.
She said by joining the network people could partake in business workshops and group excursions to learn about techniques that would boost their success.
"We will also have guest speakers, to inspire people," she said.
She said she had received 15 applications to join the network and many more emails inquiring about it.
Ms Little, who juggles her creative endeavours around her full-time job, said organising activities to further her brand didn't feel like work.
"I just love creative businesses, I love making products and I'm really passionate about the industry," she said.
Ms Little has an independent jewellery brand, j lee, which specialises in necklaces, earrings and bracelets.
The Bendigo Design Market is a quarterly 'pop-up' market Ms Little established this year.
