Inside Story will be at the Kangaroo Flat Sports Club on July 31 at 6.30pm.
The foundation's Bendigo branch president Sergeant Marg Singe said tickets cost $45 and included a two-course meal.
"This year, for our speakers, we have John Capewell who was in the Special Operations Group when Port Arthur happened," Sergeant Singe said.
"We also have Mick Talbot who's the local Inspector here and he's either going to be talking about a fatal accident or the Chirstchurch earthquake.
"He went over as part of the contingent from Victoria Police. It's good to have someone local because the people that are there are going to get to know their local Inspector.
"Hi Light Bendigo is the major sponsor for the night."
