Mrs Jolly, whose father Howard Penberthy lives in Taradale, was one of the contestants in the new season of The Block Glasshouse, which will air on July 27.
The mother-of-two teamed up with her husband and former Australian Rules footballer Darren Jolly in what Channel Nine is describing as the toughest renovation challenge yet.
"It was amazing," she said.
"It was really hard work, challenging in lots of ways, tiring but amazing as well.
"There were lots of fun times and we just enjoyed the challenge of it."
Mrs Jolly, a former fashion designer, said her husband had been doing a building apprenticeship during the last two years of his football career.
She said the couple had previous renovation experience, having made over their home recently.
"We are big fans of the show - we have always watched it and love it," she said.
"We are really into homes and interiors and building.
"I always loved interiors and fashion and there is a bit of overlap with those areas."
Mrs Jolly said the pair were away from home for three months, but were pleased with what they had accomplished.
She said she was unsure whether her father would watch the television show.
"He is not much of a TV watcher unless it's footy or cricket," she said.
"I guess so, I think he will. He told me he would, so hopefully he does."
Mrs Jolly said the reality television show would be full of drama.
"The promo ads have given it away that it is a massive build," she said.
"We had longer hours we could use power tools which means we were able to work until 8pm, but it was hard because we were really tired.
"People are going to see an amazing build and some really beautiful rooms."
The Block began in 2003 and is now in its ninth season.
This season sees the Blockheads tackle an abandoned 1980s office building in Prahran, just metres from Chapel Street.
The Block Glasshouse premieres on the Nine Network on Sunday, July 27, at 6.30pm.
