BENDIGO Senior Secondary College hosted its mid-year recognition of student achievement awards on during a ceremony on Thursday night.

More than 300 students received awards in a range of different categories, which took into account academic, sporting and vocational areas of study.
BSSC principal Dale Pearce said the awards ceremony was an important event.
"BSSC recognises the hard work that students put in throughout the year," he said.
"The college also celebrates a diverse range of achievement whether it be academic, sporting or vocational."
Philip Dallas, Louis Cameron, Aiden Purdy and Sheridan Thomas all received awards in three categories, while year 11 international student Dongni Lin achieved an A or A+ in all her subjects and received an academic excellence award.
About 12 students received community awards for their outstanding contribution to leadership and community links.
