STRATHFIELDSAYE coach Maleta Roberts is confident her team can jump into the top five and play finals this season.
The Storm has had a mixed season in the A-grade Bendigo Netball League competition, but remains one game behind Maryborough, who sit in fifth position.
Roberts believes her team can finish the season off well.
“The last game we played was the best team effort I have seen the girls play,” she said.
“They are on a high and are really confident in each other and the team.
“There are some hard yards to come to secure that spot in the finals, but we are ready.”
Strathfieldsaye will host Castlemaine in round 13 action.
Earlier this year, the Storm won by 32 goals against the Magpies.
Roberts said she was hoping for a similar result on Saturday afternoon at Flight Centre Park.
She said conversion of their centre passes and having strong defence when they don’t have the ball would be the key to the match.
“We are a better team than last time, as I’m sure Castlemaine is too,” Roberts said.
“However, if we can play hard and get all the basics right we should come out fine.
“I would like to see a bigger score line though if we can.”
Reigning premiers Gisborne are out for revenge against Golden Square on Saturday.
Back in round four Golden Square stunned Gisborne by seven goals.
Ladder-leaders Kangaroo Flat will play against Eaglehawk.
The Roos are chasing their 11th win of the season.
South Bendigo will host Kyneton at the Queen Elizabeth Oval and Maryborough will play against Sandhurst at Princes Park.
