Talented Bendigo trio win medals at national titles

BENDIGO volleyballers Lydia Rhule, James Haythorne and Evan Shelton have returned from the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships with medals hanging around their necks. 

Rhule was a part of the Victorian under-17 team who claimed a gold medal at the tournament. 

The Victorian team defeated Queensland three sets to one to win the gold medal. 

The final score line read 25/15, 16/25, 25/18 and 25/20.

James Haythorne won a bronze medal in the under-19 men's play-off game against Queensland Maroon. 

The Victorian team won in four sets. 

Young gun Evan Shelton was also a part of the under-17 men's Victorian team to win bronze. 

Shelton and his team mates defeated South Australia three-sets to one on Sunday. 

Todd Broadbent was also an assistant coach with the men's under-17 team.
