UPDATE, SUNDAY 5.30PM: A 19-year-old male has been charged with armed robbery following a hold-up and theft at a Rochester service station on Saturday night.
Detective Senior Constable Cherrie McCaig said Echuca police had interviewed a suspect, charged him and taken him into custody.
She said police would proceed with an out-of-session hearing at Echuca police station this evening.
If remanded in custody the man will be brought to Bendigo police station later tonight to face a Bendigo magistrate at court on Monday morning.
Detective Senior Constable McCaig said the two service station attendants present during the armed robbery were "emotionally traumatised" but were not injured.
She said they were back at work at the service station.
"They were quite pleased to hear we had him in custody," she said.
"They do have some concerns now with regards to working of an evening by themselves at night time."
During the hold-up, a male threatened the attendants with a knife and stole $350.
UPDATE, SUNDAY 9.10AM: Echuca Police are investigating the armed hold up at a service station in Rochester.
Senior Constable Cherrie McCaig said police would visit the scene this morning.
"Cash was taken and there were no injuries," she said.
"We're still investigating."

EARLIER, SATURDAY:
Police are searching for a man armed with a knife who held up a service station in Rochester this evening.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said a man armed with a knife threatened a staff member at the BP service station on the Northern Hwy at about 9.13pm on Saturday, demanding cash.
The offender then ran off with the cash out of the store, the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said no one was injured in the hold up.
Police are still searching for the offender, the spokesperson said.
