The Scorpions stung Gold with the final goal of a superb contest to win 12.14 (86) to 12.12 (84) at Queen Elizabeth Oval.
Leading goalkickers for Gold were Tyrone Downie, Che Walls and Alex Pollock on two apiece.
Gold's best were Daniel Toman, Alik Magin, Che Walls, Brandon Hayes, Joe Redfern and Tyrone Downie.
