The committee is responsible for fostering community spirit and involvement among residents of the town. 

It hosts the Axedale market, and many other events including an Australia Day breakfast. 

The committee is made up of 15 members. 

The awards aim to encourage, acknowledge and reward the valuable contributions individuals, communities and businesses are making throughout regional Victoria. 

Finalist will be presented and winners announced at an gala presentation dinner at Etihad Stadium in October.

All nominees not successful in reaching the finals but able to attend the awards dinner will also be presented on stage wit ha framed certificate in recognition of their achievements.
