The June Track Record report showed V/Line trains to Bendigo arrived within five minutes of their scheduled time 92.3 per cent of the time.
The figure was an improvement on April's result, when Bendigo commuters could expect punctual trains 75 per cent of the time.
Arthur Witherall, who travels from Castlemaine to Bendigo three times per week, said the 75 per cent figure "sounded more accurate".
"Although the train being late works out well for me - sometimes I'll be running late and the train will be, too," he said.
"The main issue for me is remembering to clock off after I arrive, which turns a $2 trip into a $10 trip."
Breeanna Davies, of Bendigo, said the city's coaches could also be unreliable.
