Last month the LVFNL announced a three-year plan to play its showcase event at Marong in an attempt to attract a bigger crowd and increase income streams.
However, negative feedback to the idea from some LVFNL clubs forced the board to rethink the decision and the league will revert to its traditional policy of rotating the grand final venue each season.
LVFNL board chair Colleen Rogers wrote a letter to the clubs on Wednesday outlining the change of plan.
"Since releasing the announcement, the LVFNL board has received constructive feedback from a range of sources expressing concern and disappointment in the decision, and their wish for the grand final rotation system to remain in place,'' Rogers wrote in her letter.
"It is reassuring for the board to know the level of passion its clubs have for the competition within the Loddon Valley.
"The LVFNL Board also wishes to acknowledge that it should have consulted more broadly with key stakeholders in this decision and that there were inadequacies in the presentation of the information provided to members.
"Therefore, I wish to inform you that the Board has decided to revert back to the orignal schedule for the 2014 grand final and undertake a more consulative approach with members with regards to the venues for future grand finals."
Under the rotation policy, Pyramid Hill is scheduled to host this year's grand final.
