The performing choir wore their World Choir Games silver medals with pride, drawing the attention of a number of curious athletes.
Choir member Sam Kane, 13, said he was approached by Olympics silver medallist Drew Ginn who was keen to try his medal on for size.
The choir was given VIP access to the Olympic team backstage, where they shared stories of their triumphs and posed for photographs.
Ella Doble, 12, said she found herself lost for words when speaking to her idol, gold medal hurdler Sally Pearson.
“She looked so different in real life – I had only ever seen her on the TV,” she said.
The choir performed the national anthem to open the official Olympians welcome home, before returning to the stage to sing Waltzing Matilda and Festive Alleluia.
The group was invited by Premier Ted Baillieu following their success at the recent World Choir Games.?
