CHINA'S Xiao Guodong has won his way to the semi-finals of the $500,000 Australian Snooker Goldfields Open in Bendigo.

The tournament's 16th seed, Guodong scored a 5-2 victory in Friday's quarter-final showdown with 12th seed Matthew Stevens at Bendigo Stadium.
The contest began with Guodong racing to a 2-0 lead.
A first-frame victory of 78-27 included a break of 78.
Guodong won frame two, 73-48, and struck a break of 61.
Frame three went the way of Stevens, 73-40, before Guodong won the next, 91-10.
Stevens struck back to a closely-fought fifth frame, 56-45.
A 61-37 victory by Guodong was followed by a break of 63 on his way to an 83-11 win in what was to be seventh and final frame of the match.
Guodong will be back at the table at 1pm on Saturday to play England's Judd Trump.
Quarter-finals action rolls on Friday night from 7pm at Bendigo Stadium in Marong Road, West Bendigo.
The tournament's No.1 seed and Australian star Neil Robertson will play Robert Milkins.
The Goldfields Open champion in 2011, Stuart Bingham takes on Mark Davis.
