ENGLAND'S Ricky Walden and China's Xiao Guodong have raced to early lead in Friday's quarter-finals at the $500,000 Australian Snooker Goldfields Open in Bendigo.

Walden leads Judd Trump, 3-1 at Bendigo Stadium in Marong Road.

A closely-fought contest between Guodong and Matthew Stevens on the other table is being led by the Chinese star, 3-1.

The night session hits off at 7pm.

The tournament's No. 1 seed and Australia's gun, Neil Robertson takes on Robert Milkins.

The other quarter-final is between Stuart Bingham, the 2011 Goldfields Open champion, and Mark Davis.
