The move comes as the university embarks on a drastic restructure, including the merging of five teaching faculties to two colleges.
The university searched internationally for two leaders to spear-head the changes.
Professor Graham Schaffer will be the inaugural Pro Vice‐Chancellor for the College of Science, Health and Engineering and Professor Anthony McGrew will be the inaugural Pro Vice‐Chancellor for the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce.
Vice-Chancellor Professor John Dewar said the leaders would have key roles in delivering a new operating model.
