Walden scored a 5-2 victory in Thursday's second-round clash with Martin Gould at Bendigo Stadium in Marong Road.
Gould started wth a 74-38 win, before Walden won four in a row.
The 92-3 victory in frame two included a break of 86.
The tournament's sixth seed, Walden won frame three, 91-0, and the next two, 70-56 and 67-58.
The run was stopped in the sixth as Gould won 107-0.
Walden dominated the next frame, 87-1, to wrap up the contest.
The night session as the Goldfields Open hits off at 7pm.
