Bendigo Health has broken its previous record of babies born, with the financial year's statistics including 18 twins, 704 boys and 674 girls.
Levi was welcomed into the world on Monday at 5pm and was the hospital's final birth for the 2013-14 financial year.
Mum Eden Phillips said Levi had arrived four weeks early but was healthy and doing well.
"It was a bit of a shock," she said.
"But it all went well and he's doing really well. He's still in special care at the moment but we're up every two hours or three hours and I'm feeding him and everything."
Levi is Ms Phillips' first child.
"We did have the name already chosen," she said. "But we were told we were having a girl at the start and then we went to Melbourne and we were told we were having a boy, so we weren't really sure."
Bendigo Health's nursing and surgical services executive director Peter Faulkner congratulated staff in the maternity unit for delivering 1378 babies in the 2013-14 financial year.
“The increased number of births demonstrates a record number for Bendigo Health," he said. “I would also like to thank and congratulate our hard-working staff in Women’s and Children’s Services."
