The roll out is part of a new waste contracts which started on July 1.
Campaspe environment and waste spokesman Greg Toll said residents and businesses had embraced the new suite of waste collection services, designed to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
"Council is committed to providing a more sustainable waste management system and appreciates the support of the community in this important endeavour," he said.
More than 85 per cent of the 12,000 new waste, recycling and garden organics bins have been delivered and the remainder will be distributed over the next few weeks.
Cr Toll said the majority of the bin exchange process had been completed.
"If you don’t receive your new bins by mid-July, contact council on 5481 2200," he said.
