NO.1 seed Neil Robertson overcame an early challenge from wildcard Andrew Higginson to progress to the second round of the Australian Goldfields Snooker Open on Wednesday night.
Higginson proved he would be no pushover against the world No.2 when he led Robertson 2-1 after three frames.
However, Robertson, chasing his first championship in Bendigo, responded to the challenge from the underdog, claiming the last four frames 94-0, 85-66, 68-56 and 89-0 to win 5-2.
In Wednesday night’s other match, Martin Gould defeated Michael Holt, five frames to three.
