The Bendigo singer-songwriter's was eliminated from the singing competition after performing a rendition of Kylie Minogue's Hand On Your Heart.
The judges described Lingard's performance as "really unique" with Minogue making a heart symbol to from the audience.
But the world-first home coach app voting system saw Robbie Balmer go through to the next round, ending Lingard's chances of becoming Australia's The Voice winner.
Lingard thanked his family and friends for their support and gave a big shout out to Bendigo.
"Bendigo has been supporting me incredibly," he said.
Lingard is a recognisable face in the Bendigo music scene with sets at the Bendigo Blues and Roots and Rockin the Vines music festivals.
He has previously performed well in the Telstra Countrywide Music Competition and in 2012 he made the final of the solo performers category before making the semi-final of the songwriters category in 2013.
Bendigo businesses supported Lingard in his bid to win The Voice with some shops filling their window displays with posters of the singer.
Chancery Lane was temporarily renamed Lingard Lane in Lingard's honour.
"Bendigo is a really supportive community," Lingard said.
