THE Bendigo Secondary College Lions were defeated by 33 points in Sunday's clash with Box Hill SC in the School Sport Victoria premier league grand final at the MCG.
THE Lions faced a five-goal deficit at half-time, but fought back strongly in the second half of the curtain-raiser to the AFL clash between Collingwood and Carlton.
A powerful Hawks' midfield and attack had all the answers to the Lions pressure as they led 38-8 by half-time.
The David Newett-coached BSSC Lions played their best football in the last and were rewarded by kicking four goals.
Box Hill went in as favourite and played accordingly where it's strong attack capitalised on teamwork off half-back and through midfield.
